  3. Hi, I love your work! Nice one please keep it up. But please my ebira name is Anase and it isn’t there. Please help me add it so the world can see and know its an ebira name. + there are other names that is not there too i e “ometere, ipemida,ohunene, asimeyo or omeyo, ohieku, ohinoyi, adinoyi, oyiza, omieza, onize, oyioza, etc to mention but few.   5. “IPEMIDA” simply means ‘I pleaded’. It is used when you ask God for a favour and he answered you. It is generally affiliated to the male folks.

    • @Friday Pius Ipemida: Yes the meaning of the name is clear and wonderful but what we are saying is its origin.. We think its a Yoruba name which Ebira people adopted.. Just our opinion (we could be wrong though)

    Omujemi- someone that gives me joy
    Ofuje- someone that brings joy
    Oiza- kindness
    Oremeyi- the chosen one
    Isoiza,Swashi, Ozaveshe- a person is life

  9. let me add to u d names like Adoza, Onivehu, onyiabara, Ohida, Anataku, Anoze or Onoze, Adaviruku, Enehezeyi, Ohiani, Omuya etc, but d name Aduvo is not the father of hand as u mentioned it above rather it meanns someone who is ready to take up any task or action irrespective of the challenges or consequences. Another one is Ahuovi, it means someone who made a write journey or visit and is been happily received. Please who tell u Onsachi is a female name???

  16. I commend your aspirations to make available some Ebira names available online. Nevertheless, you will need to make your researches sound and try to work on your spellings as most of the names posted are not of the original meanings and lack good spellings.

  17. i want to specially commend ur effort, i no it is no easy job compiling our (Ebira) indigeneous names. U r doing a gr8 job, may d Almighty God reward u. However, dere r so many oda names dat r not mentioned n out of d many i cud only rememba just few n it will b my pleasure 2 present dem, name like: (onyiyioza-means “the one who care about person), onayi, otuoze, ahuoyiza, (oziohu-means “child is superior”), omayioza, amoto, anakobe, (enebe-means “the hunted”) , (eneyi – means “the disowned”), (onyare-means”mother of farm”), (onozare-means “the one one see”), eneze, onyinoyi, (anajuru-means “the rejected”). hope i got dem right, cos i was not born n brought up in ebiraland, our parents brought us home wen we were only teenagers, stayed for few years n den left, cos our father was a uniform man n was always transferred from one place 2 anoda.
